ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY

Patient Information

Knowing that your upcoming surgery will give you relief from pain and disability can be very comforting, but it can also cause concern, anxiety, and even feelings of ‘loss of control’.

Once the decision is made to have surgery, there is likely a waiting period. Use this time to learn about and prepare for your surgery. Familiarizing yourself with what comes next allows you some control and understanding over your treatment.

The information here may not apply to every orthopaedic patient, but most will and will help guide you through your preparations.
