Retired Vice President and General Manager, Zimmer Biomet Canada A graduate of the science program at York University Jamie made health care his career. After 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he held sales and marketing positions with increasing responsibility and accountability, he changed his focus to medical devices. For 22 years Jamie worked with Zimmer Biomet in several leadership roles overseeing Zimmer Biomet’s extraordinary growth in the Canadian orthopaedic market. Before retiring, as VP and GM he focused his energy on advocating for access to orthopaedic care for all Canadians. A proud member of the orthopaedic community, Jamie was instrumental in conceptualizing and executing programs such as “Canada in Motion” and “Fast Track Care” in co-operation with the Canadian Orthopaedic Association, The Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation and MedTech Canada. He chaired the Orthopaedic Sector group at MedTech Canada, was a member of the MedTech Canada Board of Governors for two terms and was the co- founder and chair of the Canadian Orthopaedic Care Strategy Group. Jamie retired in May of 2021. In the short time since his retirement he has been dedicating himself to his wonderful family and is attempting to become proficient at both golf and sailing.
